[After they got back to their suite, familiar and comfortable, Mera made them both some dinner (fish, some kind of kelp, nothing too complicated), they ate, and then they essentially collapsed in bed together (after Arthur made sure to feed Nemo and Verne and check in with Rio'era). They both needed the sleep after everything that had happened, and Arthur rested better there in their seawater submerged bed than he had in the saltwater tub at the hospital.

The next morning, he's practically curled around her, nose against her hair, his good arm wrapped around her waist. Definitely slept better here than he did in the hospital.]

[Mera had been pretty exhausted too. Turns out coming back to life really takes it out of you. Falling asleep had been incredibly easy. She was pretty much out the minute she touched the bed. In the morning she wakes with Arthur curled around her, which has always been incredibly comforting. She lies there, quietly, running her fingers up and down the arm around her waist. He needs his rest. She doesn't want to wake him]

[He's always been sensitive to her movements. The gentle touch along his bare arm makes him smile slightly against her neck, breathing out a content little sigh into the water. This is always how he's slept best, pressed against her, skin to skin, warm together in the cool water. But he's never been one to sleep forever, so it isn't long before he starts to stir a little, pressing a lazy kiss to the base of her neck.]

[She continues the gentle touches, smiling at the content sigh. The bottle may have sucked for them both but this is nice, at least. When she feels the kiss against her neck, she knows he's awake]

Good morning, darling.

[Arthur smiles a little wider, pressing another few kisses to the line of her neck, gently brushing her hair out of the way to do so before he trails his fingers over the curve of her shoulder and down her side.]

G'morning.

[She smiles and turns over to face him instead]

Did you sleep well?

[He likes this view a lot better, though he moves instead to press kisses along the line of her jaw, just under her ear and above her gills, fingertips tracing over her hip.]

Very well. Better than in that tub.

[Arthur plz. She does like all the attention she's receiving though. Arthur's being exceptionally sweet this morning]

I'm glad. And how do you feel? You're not in pain, I hope?

[The stump hurts, but it's probably going to hurt for a while, and either way, there's still enough painkiller in his system to make it a mild annoyance more than anything. Either way, it's not going to stop him from lavishing affection on his wife. They've been together for ages but he never grows tired of this, of her.]

Not much. I feel good like this. [The 'like this' part is pretty obviously the being unclothed and wrapped up together. He's always had a high libido, and after their brush with death (hers more than a brush, but still), being with her again is a pleasant rush.]

[That's good because he's probably stuck with her forever.

She gets the implication right away and raises an eyebrow at him. Not even a full day out of the hospital. That's gotta be a record]

Yes, I think you've recovered quite nicely. [Sometimes she forgets that her husband is like a perma 14 year old boy]

[The raised eyebrow just gets a slightly wolfish smile out of him before he bends down a little to kiss a path along her neck to the curve of her shoulder. He's not going to feel ashamed for finding his wife attractive and being able to get it up so soon.]

[Yeah, he's all better. She can't believe she was even worried. The guy loses a hand, is in the hospital for days, just got out yesterday and now he wants sex. Geez]

I didn't do much. [She says as she trails her fingers down his chest. They are collectively the worst and it's a miracle they don't have about a dozen children]

[Again, he will not be ashamed of loving his wife. A lot. He's lucky to have her, and to have her here with him, and he'd be a fool not to want her.

He traces his fingers up over her curves, mapping muscle and soft skin, over her side, the curve of a breast. Arthur is glad they generally sleep naked; he doesn't want to fumble with clothes one-handed.]

You do quite a bit for me.

[Atlanteans don't really believe in clothing in general]

Yes, clearly. [And then she leans forward to kiss him]

[No they do not. It makes mornings like this better. Their culture did get some things right.

Arthur hums contently and kisses her back, deep and thorough, taking his time as just touches and enjoys the press of skin against skin.]

[Arthur is lucky that Mera is usually so easy going about things when it comes to him. Being propositioned first thing in the morning isn't really romantic. She doesn't seem to mind at all, wrapping her arms around Arthur's neck and moving closer to him, sliding a leg over his hip]

[Arthur loves that she's easy going about things with him. It might not exactly be the most romantic ever, but with Mera, it's never lacking in feelings. He hooks his bad arm around her carefully so he can touch with his remaining hand, thumbing over a nipple lightly as he kisses her and rolls his hips gently against hers.]

[Mera, meanwhile, decides to explore Arthur's body with her hands. Her fingertips ghost over his chest, stomach, hip bones and then back up and around to his back, nails dragging lightly over his skin. In all the years they've been together, his body hasn't changed much. She's very familiar with it at this point but that doesn't mean that she doesn't enjoy getting reacquainted with it. The roll of his hips earns him a definitely approving sound. It isn't just a willingness to play along with Arthur's whims that lead her to say yes to things like this]

[Arthur muffles a soft groan of approval against her lips as he feels her hands over his skin, warm and familiar and comforting. He's at a disadvantage with one hand, and he can't touch as much as he likes with just the one, but he makes up for it by trailing his mouth over her jaw and throat, sucking a little mark at her collarbone, even as he glides his hand over her stomach and between her legs.]

[She tilts her head back to bare more of her throat to him, sliding his hands up his back to tangle her fingers in his hair. The gasp she lets out when his hand slips between her legs melts into a soft laugh, which probably is not the response Arthur was looking for. Sorry]

Getting right to the point today, darling?

[Arthur breathes out a soft laugh of his own at her reaction, tongue flicking across a nipple as his fingers find the little bundle of nerves there and rub in a slow, gentle circle.]

We've got all morning. Maybe we're just getting started.

Oh, really?

[So it's gonna be one of those days, huh? Hope nobody wanted them for anything today. Not that Mera cares. Rolling around in bed with Arthur sounds a million times more interesting than anything else. Her fingers tighten just slightly in his hair and she closes her eyes]

Mm, Arthur.

[He's glad she agrees, and hey, this at least gets him to stay in bed. He is under orders to do that, not that he plans on resting much for a while today. Call it a 'we're not dead' tradition; he still remembers fondly the night in the lighthouse where they pretty much trashed the room. Maybe this morning won't be quite so energetic considering his condition, but it doesn't mean they can't have fun.]

Mera. [He breathes against her skin, rolling to prop himself up on his bad elbow for better leverage as he presses his lips down the curves of her body, fingers working alternatingly light or pressing a little harder.] I love you.

[She would have to be crazy not to agree. If there's one thing she's always agreed with Arthur about, it's this. Trashing the room in the lighthouse is an excellent memory for her too. She releases her grip on him as he moves down, gasping and shivering as his fingers continue to work her]

I love you too.

[He kisses his way down the lines of her stomach, down around to her inner thigh, sucking a little mark there with a smile before he replaces his fingers with his tongue. This late in their marriage, after so many times together, he knows pretty well all the spots that make her gasp, all the things she likes, but he never gets tired of relearning them.]
